Slime Green

Last Friday I ran some errands and eventually found myself at Winners. Someone had told me that Winners had a bunch of good quality support undergarments. Unfortunately, they must have all been sold. So I walked around the store holding these green shoes in my arms trying to decide if I needed a pair of Slime Green shoes for $25.00.

I decided what the hell.

Blouse: Smoking Lily (last worn here)
Necklace: Pretty Chic
Belt: H&M
Skirt: ModCloth (last worn here)
Shoes: Bamboo from Winners

My coworker asked me what I called this colour. I said Emerald green. Not sure what other colour this could be described as other than a "jewel tone green". Another coworker said that she likes this top because it just looks like a pretty blouse but then you notice the skeleton ribcage and realize that its got a secret edginess.

Other coworkers debated whether I had worn this blouse before and when I said I had worn it at least 4 times then people said it was time to give it up. Uh... NOPE!

In June I was questioning whether to keep this skirt since it's a wee bit tight. Obviously I decided that I didn't want to give it up and I'm glad of that since Audi of Fashion for Nerds has so perfectly shown its versatility.  These skirts aren't the exact same (I think her's is from Anthropologie) but it's a pretty close match.

I love this outfit of hers the best. I'm going to have to experiment with matching this skirt with different patterns and with longer flowing tops. I'm full of ideas! Thanks Audi!

They have these shoes on the ModCloth website in orange. They don't seem to have the slime green version.

  1. I would call the blouse emerald green and the shoes are Kelly green (I'm good at colour).

Love the whole outfit! If you get tired of that skirt, I will give it a good home. :) :)

  4. And rounding out the commenting dibs - I will happily take the shoes off your hands! Lol, seriously they're great. And what a price! I call that color "acid green". Anything that eye searing makes me swoon.

No way you should give the shirt up, the skirt either. I think they're both really great pieces you'll remix a million times. Audi is such a great source of inspiration. I love browsing her archives.

  6. I really like this outfit! And I'd agree with Sheila - I'd call the shoes kelly green. But, then again, they are the same color as Slimer. :) Whatever you call them, they look great!

  11. I would agree that the shoes are kelly green, which sounds so much nicer than slime. I wish I could wear flats like that, but the bunions won't fit! That skirt is awesome, a definite keeper.
