I can't think straight, I've been thinking in love triangles

I thought I posted this last night but I guess I forgot to hit "publish". This not blogging for a while has made me a little rusty.

Today I built my outfit around this little hand embroidered skeleton that I bought at Canon Blanc on Queen St West. They are made by Macon Lesquoy and they are adorable. I kinda also want the bloody knife.

I wore it with my Lisa Bowie skull ring and cheepy skull bracelet.

The outfit itself was rather *meh*.

Dress: Dorothy Perkins (last worn here)
Shoes: Fluevog Adrian Alison (last worn here)

Last time I wore this dress I wore it with fabulous tights which I think makes it more interesting.

Today I am a bit more colourful. In fact someone just complemented me on the elevator for being so colourful. Maybe today will be a two post day!

Amish approved!

On Saturday I was out running a few errands (mailing packages, picking up a few greeting cards) and despite the fact that I know better, I popped into Cabaret Vintage on Queen St. West. I walk past it twice a day and usually covet the clothing in their windows like this yellow dress. Not to mention the obviously fabulous bow tie and cardigan.

I found the yellow dress but alas it  was tiny so I looked around and found a few other items to try on, including somethings from their basement sale.

I ended up leaving with this dress.

Not quite the candid smile from last time but still looking happy to be in a pretty dress.

This is a little more covered than I am usually but I enjoy the slightly dropped waist and floral border.

The label inside says "Made in Paris exclusively for Mary Korolnek Imports, Toronto, Canada". Seems to be from the 1960s.

Dress: Cabaret Vintage
Shoes: Kate Spade (last worn here)

Looking back to that photo, my hair was pretty long and is now getting to that length again. I think I'm liking it longer.

And the back. I like how the pattern of the polka dots line up along the zipper.  It needs some TLC at the bottom of the zipper to resew the upper to the lining but I think I can handle that with some hand sewing.

What sold me on this dress was the floral border. It's a surprising touch on the navy/white dress.

Happy Monday!

Six inches forward and five inches back

Last weekend I went to New York to see Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I've long been a fan of the movie so when I found out that Neil Patrick Harris was going to be reprising the role on Broadway I had to make the trip and go see it.

It did not disappoint - he was amazing and the show was fabulous. So exciting!  And I got to see one of my BFFs from Halifax who also came down for the show. It was really great to see her for a weekend.

We also went to an exhibit at the Fashion Institute of Technology of 1930s fashion. I took these pictures sneakily.

This last one was my favourite.

Here's an outfit from April 23.

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Vintage from Dress in Time in Halifax
Shoes: Zara (last worn here)

Forgot to take off my dog tag.

I bought this dress in Halifax and I don't think I've ever worn it but I noticed in the window of Joe Fresh that black and white patterns seem to be big this spring so I dug it out of the back of my closet.

I think I'll be wearing it a lot this spring.

A coworker found me in the middle of taking photos. I really like this shot of me. It's very candid.
