Bohemian like you

I bought a blouse at a pop-up shop on Queen Street on Sunday so of course I had to wear it on Monday.

Blouse: Fitzroy Boutique pop-up shop
Skirt: Trapper Jane (last worn here)
Shoes: Fluevog Writes | Simone (last worn here though I'm sure I've worn them since last January)

First of all, I don't wear separates very often so wearing a skirt and blouse is different for me. Secondly, this is quite flowery, also not a typical choice for me.

That being said, I recently bought those flowery boots and flats from Fluevog. Maybe my style is evolving? Am I becoming girly in my early-mid-40s?

It's also quite sheer and flowy (if that's a word).

And a HI to the funky woman who stopped me at Queen and Spadina to tell me she likes my blog. *waves*

  1. And why shouldn't one's style change over time? I'm having a crazy pink moment right now!

I love those shoes - I had the chance to buy them and didn't. Still kicking myself!

  2. *waves*

That was me! I felt so bad for accosting you on the street but I do love this blog and find it so inspirational. I just had to say hi! So relieved to read that you didn't mind.

And thanks for the compliment. "Funky" is one of my favourite descriptors. :-)

  3. I love the flowy blouse, especially the sleeves! Nothing wrong with evolving into someone girly! xx

  4. Google just ate my reply right in front of my eyes. Either that or it is now going to publish two of my replies. So let's see, how to paraphrase....Love the flowery blouse, love the shoes and the shape of the skirt and you are totally rocking bohemian. Do it more!

  5. love your flowy shirt, such pretty print and lovely pleats!
It's not so bad to embrace some girly-floral style sometimes!, enjoy it!

  6. Someone on GOMI recommended your blog (HIGH praise, indeed) and as a fellow Torontonian, I'm so glad they did...& your style is such fun!

    1. Thanks for letting me know about the GOMI mention! And thank you for your complement. :)

  7. Yes, it is possible that one could become more "girly" in their 40's ;) The blouse is very pretty - nothing wrong with flowers and pleats. I've bought a couple of girly blouses over the past years that I wouldn't have been caught dead wearing in my 20's and 30's.

It's always a nice boost when someone stops to tell you they enjoy your blog.

  8. We're always evolving, adapting. I like the way your style is changing, always interesting! It's a lovely top, imo. And I'm staunchly against florals - and yet.. wind up wearing them myself on occasion.
